University Ranking
Founded in 1987, the Bond University was the brainchild of a leading businessman, Alan Bond, who declared his plan to establish the first private and fully independent university of Australia at Burleigh Forest. Operations at the university started as early as 1989, only two years after its inception. The university has been ranked between 901 and 1000 for 2019 and 2020 by ARWU Shanghai University Rankings. The QS World University Ranking has ranked the university at 414 for the year 2021 which is a few notches higher than the previous years. Global ranking providers, Times Higher Education (THE), has ranked the university between 501 and 600 for four years, 2017 to 2019 and 2021. While QS puts a maximum focus on Academic Reputation (40%) followed by Faculty/Student Ratio and Citations per Faculty at 20% each, Times Higher Education (THE) devotes equal importance to Teaching, Research, and Citations at 30% each.
The US NS News & World Report - Global Universities Ranking which is specific to the United States has ranked the university at 1174 for 2021. The US News & World Report takes into account Global Research Reputation, Regional Research Reputation, and Number of Publications cited (12.5% each) among other ranking parameters, as part of their ranking methodology.
