What all courses are available to international students?
Federation University Australia offers 58 bachelor's and 62 graduate programmes, including six diploma courses, four certificate courses, and 13 PhD courses. A total of 174 courses are available for international students. The university also offers the option of research at the master’s and doctoral levels. Students can choose to pursue research either in the form of a project or as a thesis. What are the eligibility requirements?
Federation University enrols students on the grounds of their proven potential to excel and defines the standard eligibility criteria for each course of study, including:
- Minimum age requirement: Applicants should be at least 18 years of age by the date of Commencement of Enrolment (CoE) issue.
- Minimum English language requirement: International applicants from non-English speaking nations must meet the minimum English language requirements.

Indian students seeking admission in an undergraduate course at Federation University Australia are assessed based on Australian year 12. The Indian school boards equivalent qualifications are:

To seek admission in a postgraduate course (coursework), the applicant should have completed an Australian bachelor’s degree or an overseas equivalent with a minimum prescribed CGPA or grades. Certain programmes may also require credible work experience for admission to a non-research-based postgraduate course, such as for MBA:
- A first-class degree with relevant work experience is required, and
- IELTS 6.0 (with no less than 6.0 in any section).
Research Programme Requirements
For entry into postgraduate research programmes, aspirants need to hold a relevant master’s degree, supported by a strong research proposal. The applicant must have qualified for a master’s degree, including a dissertation, to demonstrate an ability to research at the PhD level. Some courses allow students who have a four-year Honours Bachelor’s degree supported with a strong research-oriented dissertation. English Proficiency Requirements
International candidates that do not belong from an English-speaking country are expected to display English language proficiency.For degree courses in Business and Science, an IELTS score of 6.0 is required. Some course programmes have lower and others have higher scores requirements.

When do the admissions start?
Admissions are offered around the year with some courses having only two major intakes (February and July), and others having only one intake. Thus, there are no specified deadlines. If you are looking for an entry into a specific intake, then check the respective course page for the current year intake’s deadlines. Generally, the deadline for international applicants is one month before the semester commencement. Prospective students are advised to apply as early as possible to allow sufficient time for application and visa processing by Australian authorities. The PG admissions open around September and deadlines are as per course or program.
How do I start my application? Is there any Pathway option available?
All international students applying from India, Nepal, or Pakistan can only apply through an agent. Direct applications from these countries are not processed.

English for Academic Purposes Programme (EAP)
This programme prepares students for University-level education by providing the right guidance. International students who do not qualify for direct admission for not meeting the English requirements can enter this programme. This course is designed for international students to gain entry into higher education degrees that require an Academic IELTS of 6.0, 6.5, or 7.0. Successful completion of this programme may allow students to apply for direct entry to Federation University without taking a formal English test.

When will I hear from the university after I submit my application?
After you apply to Federation University, the application is scrutinised by a selection officer. Once the application is checked and verified, accordingly you are notified of the outcome of your application. Starting November, the university starts sending offers to students who have applied. For specific courses, an interview invitation is sent before making an offer. The final decision is informed to applicants by the end of March.

How many colleges and campuses does the university have?
The university has seven campuses spread across five cities in Victoria and Queensland, Australia. The main campus is in Ballarat (Mt. Helen) along with two others (SMB and Camp Street), while the rest are located in Berwick, Brisbane, Gippsland, and Wimmera. The university is made up of seven academic schools that further oversee various departments and centres.
Is on-campus housing available?
Federation University offers comfortable, fully furnished single bedrooms to undergraduate and postgraduate students. The on-campus residence facilities are provided at the Ballarat campus, Gippsland campus, Melbourne (Berwick) campus, and Brisbane campus.
