What all courses are available to international students?


Monash University offers more than 500 courses in various majors, extending, majors, minors, and specialisations to its national and international students. It also offers courses in professional and continuing education, which are run by industry professionals.

What are the eligibility requirements?


International students need to meet the following eligibility criteria for applying to Monash University:

Undergraduate Level Eligibility Requirements

  • Basic education: Grade 12 in relevant discipline with a minimum GPA of 3 on a scale of 4
  • Standardised exams: SAT accepted

Graduate Level Eligibility Requirements

  • Basic education: Bachelor’s degree in relevant discipline cleared with first division from a recognised university
  • Standardised exams: GRE not mandatory
  • Work experience: Preferred in some courses

MBA Eligibility Requirements

  • Basic education: Bachelor’s degree in relevant discipline cleared with first division from a recognised university
  • Standardised exams: A minimum score of 650 in GMAT for business courses
  • Work experience: Required

Mandatory English Proficiency

Since all the programmes are taught in English medium, international students from non-English-speaking countries must undergo an English proficiency test to prove their suitability. Refer to the minimum criteria for the same:

English Proficiency (either of):

  • IELTS: Minimum 6.5 bands (with no less than 6 bands in each section)
  • TOEFL: Minimum score of 79 in internet-based or 550 in the paper-based test
  • PTE Academic: Minimum score of 58 (with no less than 50 in communicative skills)
  • Cambridge English: Advanced (CAE): Minimum of 176 (with no less than 169 in any skill)
  • Cambridge English: Proficiency (CPE): Minimum of 176 (with no less than 169 in any skill)
  • Cambridge Linguaskill General (online Monash test): Minimum of 176 (with no less than 169 in any skill)
