Founded in the year 1971, TAFE SA Regional is the largest vocational education and training provider in South Australia. It has accreditation from the leading national regulator Australian Skills Quality Authority. TAFE SA also holds the certification of a registered higher education provider managed by the Tertiary Education Quality and Standards Agency. It has partnerships with Redarc and the Onshore Petroleum Centre of Excellence.

It has metropolitan and regional campuses at 300 different locations in the country. The students can choose to pursue programmes from any of TAFE SA locations as per their preference and convenience. Each site features state-of-the-art academic, administrative and support facilities for students. TAFE ensures the health and well-being of its students across its campuses through on-time medical services and regular health assessments. In addition, confidential counselling is provided to the students over the phone or face to face for free. The Aboriginal Access Centre offers indigenous programmes for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander students and also provides all the possible support to the students falling under these categories.

Apart from this, it facilitates distance education for working professionals through its range of online programmes across various disciplines. At present, it has a total student enrolment of 70,000 across all its education centres, which includes international students from more than 70 nations of the world. TAFE SA has a vast alumni network of graduates, living across the globe. Many of its graduates are employed at high positions in respective organizations or have started their own businesses. Other than this, its alumni list includes many such names that have been recognized for their unique work and comprehensive contribution in their professional areas
