University Ranking
Founded in 1942 as Carleton College, to serve returning World War II veterans, the institute was chartered as a university by the provincial government in 1952 and was named the Carleton University in 1957. The US News & World Report which is specific to the US has ranked Carleton University at 471 for 2021, this is a significant improvement in ranking as compared to the university being ranked at 489 in 2018 and 483 for 2019 and 2020.
The US News & World Report takes into account Reputation Indicators such as Global Research and Regional Research Reputation, Bibliometric Indicators, and Scientific Excellence indicators. Carleton offers a diverse range of academic programs and is organized into six faculties. They are Faculty of Arts & Social Science (est:1997), Faculty of Engineering & Design (est:1963), Faculty of Graduate & Postdoctoral Affairs (est:1974), Faculty of Public Affairs (est:1997), Faculty of Science (est:1963), and Sprott School of Business (est:2006).
