Founded in 1974, Concordia University is a public research university located in Quebec, Canada. The university is one of the three universities in the province of Quebec that uses English as the primary language of instruction. The university came into being with the merger of Loyola College and Sir George Williams.

One of the most sought-after universities in Canada, Concordia University has been ranked 477 by QS World University Rankings. It has been ranked 670 by US News & World report. The university has been ranked between 601 and 800 by Times Higher Education (THE) and between 601 and 700 by SRWU Shanghai Ranking. The US News & World Report takes into account Global Research Reputation, Regional Research Reputation, and Number of Publications cited (12.5% each) among other ranking parameters, as part of their ranking methodology. The Shanghai ranking doesn’t consider an institution’s reputation among academics or employers, preferring instead to rank universities by considering the level of academic research they produce and the number of Nobel Prizes won by their staff. While admissions to the university happen mostly in September and in selective cases in January/May, the university has more than 400 undergraduate programs under the Faculty of Arts and Science, the Gina Cody School of Engineering and Computer Science, the Faculty of Fine Arts, and the John Molson School of Business. The university has been ranked between 251 and 300 for pursuing Accounting and Finance and between 121-130 for pursuing global MBA for 2020 by QS Subject Ranking. The university has been ranked between 251-300 for pursuing PG Business and Economics by Times Higher Education.

For pursuing engineering courses, Concordia University has been ranked 286 Subject Ranking for Engineering and Technology and between 201 and 250 for PG Engineering and Technology by Times Higher Education. For computer courses, Concordia University has been ranked between 301 and 400 for pursuing PG Computers by Times Higher Education (THE).
