Georgian College is an establishment of the time when Ontario’s college system was forming up. This college is designated as the changemaker college of Canada owing to the changes it has brought in the higher education along with the social innovations. Living up to its name, the college offers multiple projects, challenges, business launches and work opportunities with non-profit organisation so that the students gain exposure and can be a part of the changemaking spree. Spreading its wings through seven different campuses, Georgian College is a home to more than 3,600 international students from more than 85 countries pursuing diploma, degree, and certificate courses in 13 academic areas. Providing a relaxing and comfortable environment, Georgian College has maintained a good employment rate of (87%) as well. The graduate satisfaction rate is 81.6% at Georgian College as compared to all other colleges in Ontario, that is only 80.1%. Also, it has been named one of Canada’s top 100 employers seven times. Further, it offers seven-week module English Language program from 1 to 8 levels within its main campus.
Although the college has collaboration with 780 exchange collaborations with over 59 institutes along with multiple two- and three-year diplomas, one-year post-graduate certificates, degrees and combined degree-diploma programs with Lakehead University, but it is specifically known for Aviation & Automotive Business Management, Engineering, Hospitality, Health and Wellness, Information Technology and Design and Visual Arts programs. There is a non-refundable application fee of $100 for international students to apply to postsecondary programs and English for Academic Purposes.

No interview round is there, as such.
When will I hear from the college after I submit my application?
The final acceptance after submitting the documents, accepting the offer letter and completing the documentation is received by early June.

Part Time Work While Studying
Can I work while studying here?
There are multiple on-campus jobs along with jobs in community for international students. However, Applicant needs to meet certain criteria to work while studying at Georgian college:
- A study permit
- Enrolment in a full-time program with a minimum course duration of six months
- Enrolment in academic, vocational or professional training program
- If the applicant meets these criteria, then he can work on- or off – campus on full-time basis for a maximum of 20 hours a week
- The major on-campus employers are The Last Class Restaurant, The First Class Cafe, the Athletics and Fitness Centre and Academic Success
- Post registration as a student, applicant can visit job database to check for the jobs
The students can work post completion of graduation as well for up to three years wherein the student needs to have a valid study permit and needs to apply within 90 days of graduation.
*Note: Any international student enrolled in co-op program need to apply for work permit to work off campus wherein Georgian College as an employer decides where the student can work.

Is on-campus housing available?
The on-campus facility is available only at Barrie, Orillia and Owen sound campuses for an average cost of $3,720 per semester. However, the students can opt for homestay which is available at all campuses for $3,740 approximately (per semester) including 3 meals. Also, the additional expenses include:
- Books, English for Academic Purposes: $250 to $350 (per seven-week semester)
- Books, postsecondary programs: $50 to $200 (per textbook)
- Groceries: $300 to $400 (monthly estimate)
- Cell phone: $20 to $80 (monthly estimate)
