Kwantlen Polytechnic University is a public university that was established in 1981 as it separated from Douglas College. The number of academic staff members is 1,400 and the number of students is 20,000. It is one amongst the biggest institutes by enrolment within British Columbia, Canada, having a total of 5 locations covering the Metro Vancouver district. The university offers many bachelor's, certificate, associate, diploma, apprenticeship and citation programs including in more than 120 areas of study. There are several vocational programs for workers and skilled technicians, such as the ones in accountancy, engineering, nursing, business administration, architecture, criminology, and medicine. It, however, operates more or less as a polytechnic university for undergraduates. In the year 1995, the university became autonomous. It is Canada's only polytechnic university. The college has over 50,000 registered alumni worldwide.

KPU (Kwantlen Polytechnic University) was appointed as a member of the Association of Universities and Colleges of Canada (AUCC) on October 24th of 2008. They are also associated with the International Association of Universities (IAU), the Association of Commonwealth Universities (ACU), the Colleges and Institutes Canada (CICan), Canadian University Press (CUP) and Canadian Bureau for International Education (CBIE). The Globe and Mail Canadian University Report placed the university on the top among post-secondary institutes in terms of enrollment across Canada.

It earned good grades from A to B in the categories like that of career preparation, teaching and learning, information technology and student satisfaction. The national survey of student engagement also listed the college among the topmost Canadian institutes in terms of educational practices, quality of education and student participation. Kwantlen offers cooperative education in many degree programs that include the Bachelor of Arts, Business Administration, Technology and as well as programs of diploma. The semesters dedicated work-placement o0nes matching the field of study for the students in addition to regular studies. They have a Brewing Diploma which is unique on its own along with traditional Chinese medicine-Acupuncture. They also offer free English Language studies along with upgrading courses. The students can practice minors in indigenous community justice and medicinal chemistry.

The class schedule is flexible with online coaching. There are also volunteer and working opportunities on the campus. The college gives bursaries and other forms of financial aids. There is an intercampus shuttle service. Also, there are support programs for the Aboriginal students that include the KPU's Elder in Residence, Lekeyten, from the Kwantlen First Nation.

Good university. International students can consider to join.

Tips: Its a good university, can be considered . Transportation is good. Study is all from the books, not much practical knowledge . Books are expensive too. Not much food options in campus. Helpful staff, registration gets tough sometimes due to huge crowd.

Likes (Public transportation): Bus is right outside college. Good for transportation as its center of the city. Accommodation is available, just need to find it . Bus pass is given by university so it can be used . Good transportation. Sky train is accessible by bus. Other citi...
