Q. How early shall I apply for admission at the University of New Brunswick?

A. Students applying from abroad are recommended to apply atleast 6 months before the commencement of their program. Doing so will help them ensure that they have got all their permits processed before the course begins.

Q. Can I apply for more than one course at the University of New Brunswick?

A. Yes, students have the liberty to apply for more than one course by filling out separate application forms and fees. But if accepted, they can get enrolled on only one academic program.

Q. What all documents will I be required to submit while submitting the admission application form at the University of New Brunswick?

A. Apart from the relevant academic documents and certificates, you might have to submit some additional documents. Those documents may include your resume, transcripts, statement of purpose, sample writing, GRE or GMAT score, and references. Also, you’ll have to submit the official English language test scores if English is not your first language.

Q. Do I need to deposit any application fee for studying at the University of Brunswick?

A. Yes, you will have to pay the application fee after you submit your application. The fee for domestic applicants is $65, while international applicants have to pay $125. Thereafter, your application will be sent to the department for review. It will usually take 4-6 weeks for the same to get processed.

Q. Are the students offered any awards for funding their education at the University of New Brunswick?

A. The university offers a variety of internal and external awards to its present as well as potential students. For a few awards, some may need to fill out an application, while for others they’ll be directly considered. More than 160 graduate awards are available for graduate students. These are funded by faculty, present students, university alumni, staff, etc.

Q. Is it mandatory for the students to be good in English for studying at the University of New Brunswick?

A. Yes, it is mandatory for the applicants to be well versed in the English language as the majority of the courses are taught in it. Students should therefore possess good oral and written skills. International students who are applying to the school of graduate studies and whose mother tongue is not English have to prove their command of the language through various test scores.

Q. What minimum scores are accepted to prove English language proficiency at the University of Brunswick?

A. Following scores are required to demonstrate your English language hold:
  • TOEFL IBT: Overall minimum score of 85.
  • IELTS/IELTS Indicator: Overall minimum score of 6.5.
  • CAEL CE or CAEL online: Overall minimum score of 60.
  • Pearson Vue Test: Minimum score of 59.
  • Cambridge English Assessment C1 advanced/C2 proficiency: Minimum score of 176.
  • Duolingo: Overall minimum score of 115.

Q. What is the eligibility set for Indian students who wish to pursue a UG course at the University of New Brunswick?

A. If you’re from India and want to take admission into an undergraduate course at the University of Brunswick, you need to have appeared for the Indian School Certificate Examination. You should possess an intermediate certificate, higher secondary school certificate or All India Senior School Certificate with 60% or above or a general certificate of education (GCE).

Q. Can I get admission into an undergraduate course at the University of New Brunswick if I don’t possess an English test score?

A. In such a case, international students may still get accepted, provided that they undergo full-time English Language Training at the university before their course commences. Also, even if the admission is conditional, they’ll have to get a student visa.
