It is a business school that has accreditation from the Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business (AACSB).

XJTLU's main campus is categorized as North Campus and South Campus. It also operates a satellite campus in Taicang. The university boasts of its architecturally impressive campus that features modern, state-of-the-art teaching and research facilities such as spacious classrooms, fully-equipped laboratories, and design studios. The International Academic Exchange and Collaboration Centre is a multi-functional building that houses convention facilities, meeting rooms, lecture theatres, lounge spaces, and dining options. The Central Library provides access to a wide range of resources, including 6,10,000 printed volumes, 3.3 million e-books, and over 100,000 electronic journals. Other on-campus facilities include a golf training venue, health center, gymnasium, dance room, table tennis room, football field, basketball courts, and accommodation facilities. Besides, the students and staff can access the Dushu Lake Gym that has a 50-meter swimming pool, and other sports facilities. XJTLU's academic structure is organized in 14 departments, three centers, two schools, one college, and one institute. It offers undergraduate, postgraduate and doctorate programs in distinct disciplines of business, arts, science, engineering, technology and architecture, urban planning, mathematics, language, health, and environmental studies. Most of the programs are taught in English. The University has almost 17,000 registered students, including those who are completing study at the University of Liverpool and 700 academic affiliates.
