Established in 1409, Leipzig University is one of the world's oldest universities and the second-oldest university in Germany. Since its inception, the university has engaged in teaching and research for over 600 years without interruption. When we talk about university ranking, Leipzig University has been ranked in between 501 to 550 for four years in a row, 2017-2021 by QS World University Ranking. Recently, the QS World University Ranking has ranked the university at 483 for 2021. QS World University ranking puts maximum focus on Academic Reputation (40%) followed by Faculty/Student Ratio and Citations per Faculty at 20% each.
