Getting a scholarship may not be as difficult for students as figuring out how to apply for a scholarship is. The reason why this is so because even on the internet there isn't a lot of available information on the various scholarships. It is understood that the students interested in them will get in touch with the organization/university offering them.
D epending on the type of the scholarship, you may have to apply separately for it. If it is offered by a private or independent organization then you need to submit an application form, write an essay, submit reference letters etc. Remember that these are very competitive scholarships so getting one is equal to getting accepted at a prestigious unive rsity. It may seem like a lot of work , but it is worth it because these scholarships offer literally free education as they cover most of the tuiti on and living costs. Hence why these are so popular and competitive.
O n the other hand, if your college offers a scholarship , you automatically apply for it when you submit your ad mission application. If your scores and student profile meet the minimum criteria required, your application is considered without any additional application or essays. Information about these scholarships may or may not be present on the college website, so it is better to write to the admission cell and ask about the details.
