Students who are planning to travel abroad for higher education and are required to appear for their Test of English as Foreign Language or more commonly referred to as TOEFL iBT will have a different TOEFL Exam experience starting from August 2019 onwards. Educational Testing Services or more commonly referred to as ETS – the conducting body of TOEFL iBT has promised a better experience to students beginning August 1, 2019. Students who plan to travel to the top study abroad destinations for pursuing higher education are often required to appear for TOEFL. Come August, the TOEFL iBT test experience is going to get a whole lot better with a shorter test duration, enhanced score reporting, and easier registration.

Reduced duration for TOEFL

August onwards, the TOEFL iBT will be shortened by 30 minutes. Currently, the total duration of the exam is 3hrs and 30minutes. From August 2019, the total duration of the exam would be 3hrs flat. Afternoon Testing Sessions Now Open Worldwide

ETS – the organizing body of the Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL) has rolled out a second set of initiatives to enhance the TOEFL iBT® test experience for students worldwide. Starting immediately, students wanting to appear for their TOEFL test can register for afternoon testing sessions on select dates, a shift that effectively doubles the testing capacity of participating test centres on those dates. In addition, students can test on consecutive weekends as available dates permit — a significant improvement from the previous 12-day retest waiting period.
