Pearson Test of English Academic has been approved by Immigration New Zealand for English language proficiency assessment under all visa categories. This recognition came into effect on Monday, 21 November 2016.
PTE Academic is accepted by all universities in New Zealand. With this new development, visa applicants to New Zealand will now have a choice of approved English language testing options. Globally, PTE Academic is accepted by thousands of academic programs, as well as by the Australian Government Department of Immigration and Border Protection for all immigration and student visa applications. The test is accepted by all of the universities in Ireland, Australia and New Zealand.

PTE Academic is currently administered in 24 test centres across 17 cities in India, namely Bangalore, Chandigarh, Chennai, Cochin, Coimbatore, Gandhinagar, Hyderabad, Jalandhar, Kolkata, Mumbai, Nagpur, New Delhi, Patiala, Pune, Rajkot and Vijaywada.
