All those who wish to study abroad need to apply for the student visa of that country. Majorly all the countries have set some kind of requirements or eligibility criteria for issuing the student visa. Every country follows its own set of immigration laws that candidates need to follow in order to get the visa.

List of documents required for getting the student visa

Valid passport: The first and foremost requirement for getting a student visa is to have a valid passport. In addition to this, few countries also demand that your passport should be valid till the end of your course and beyond. Apart from this, make sure that your passport must have two blank pages for the visa stamp.

Proof of funds: It is of para importance for the other country to know whether you have adequate funds with you or not. They wanted to know how you are going to fund your education and how you are going to arrange for the basic living expenses.

Proof of acceptance by the respective institution: While applying for the student visa, you might need to show the acceptance letter of the institution/university you have enrolled in. also, for many countries, the institute must be recognized by the immigration department of that country.

Medical examination report: Various countries require that international students should undergo a medical test from the list of doctor authorized by them. It is advised to do it a few days before you start the visa application as the doctors need some time to prepare the medical reports.

Student visa interview: After submitting the application for the visa, now it’s time to gear up for the visa interview. Although, student visa interview is not mandatory for every country, as for some countries it is conditional. But wherever you need to give the interview, you should prepare well for it, as you won’t get the visa without clearing it.

Hi Frank, international students need to pay £470 per year for health insurance for the duration the visa will be granted.

For proof of fund for studying in US Universities is it required to arrange proof of funds for entire period of MS (ie for tution fees and living expenses for two years) or for only one year as the University has asked already and it has been submitted to the US universities?

Hi Shubh, if you secure admission in a recognized school then you are eligible to apply for a F1 student visa. You can get admission after completing your current course.

Sir, i have done B.Tech in civil (7.2 CGPA),i am planning to do PG diploma in construction project management in canada, i have 2 yrs of experience as a project eng, but i have overall 6.5 and 5.5 in one module(speaking). What will be the possibility of getting visa if i apply to a non SDS visa?
