Eligibility

  • Applicants must be currently enrolled in a full-time Master's program or a full-time Doctoral program in the areas of Earth Sciences, Engineering and Applied Science, Economics and Business
  • 80% of these awards will be given to students in the Department of Earth Sciences.
  • The awards may be renewable for a second year, will be awarded on the basis of academic merit, demonstration of a strong potential to carry out meaningful research, expression of interest in potential employment in the oil and gas industry and signaling of career location mobility; level of service to community or leadership will also be considered.

Application Process for this scholarship

Application process:

  • Students must apply and submit an application to the School of Graduate Studies at sgs@mun.ca to be considered for the scholarship
  • The application consists of a covering letter, a CV, a research statement (two pages maximum), all transcripts, and two letters of reference. To request renewal for second year, an application will need to be submitted for consideration.
  • A recommendation will be forwarded to the Dean of Graduate Studies by the Awards and Medals Committee.
