Scholarship Overview

  • The Scholarship was established in 2011 and is funded by alumni of the Faculty of Engineering who studied at the University of Auckland under the Colombo Plan, together with other donors
  • The main purpose of the Scholarship is to assist international students who are citizens of Colombo Plan member countries, to study undergraduate or postgraduate engineering programs at the University of Auckland

Eligibility

  • 12 years of schooling and an overall average of 75 percent in the All-India Senior School Certificate (AISSC), Indian School Certificate (ISC), Karnataka, Maharashtra, and West Bengal State Board Examinations with a minimum of 70 percent in English and 85% in Physics and Mathematics
  • 12 years of schooling and an overall average of 80 percent in all other Higher Secondary State Board Examinations with a minimum of 75 percent in English and 88% in Physics and Mathematics
  • ELP Scores:
    • TOEFL: 80 with a Writing score of 21
    • IELTS: 6.5 with 6.0 or better in all bands
    • PTE: 50 with no communicative skills score below 42
  • Applicants are not required to submit English language proficiency scores if they have scored 70% in English in 12th
  • The Scholarship will be awarded to a student who has paid the fees or arranged to pay the fees
  • The basis of selection will be academic merit, financial need, community activities, communication skills, leadership potential, and desire to contribute positively to the engineering profession
