Scholarship Overview

Awarded by the UK Foreign, Commonwealth & Development Office (FCDO), Commonwealth Master’s Scholarship is granted to talented and motivated individuals to gain knowledge and skills required for sustainable development. The financial grant is open to students who cannot otherwise afford to study in the UK.

As the name suggests, the Commonwealth Master’s Scholarship is for candidates belonging to the Commonwealth countries fitting lower and upper-middle-income households. The scholarship allows students to undertake full-time taught Master’s study at a university in the UK.

Candidates should note that the Commonwealth Scholarship Commission (CSC) does not accept direct applications for the scholarship. Two nominating bodies have been set up to process the grant applications. The two agencies that have been set up to process all Commonwealth Master’s Scholarship applications would have their own selection process and may have additional eligibility criteria. Candidates are advised to check with the nominating body for their specific advice and rules for applying, their own eligibility criteria, and their own closing date for applications.
