    • SAT Reasoning Test is required
    • SAT Subject Tests are not required for admission but are recommended
    • The middle 50% of test scores (the 25th to the 75th percentiles) for enrolled freshman are as follows:

      • SAT-Math: 710-800 (Old SAT)
      • SAT-Writing: 710-790 (Old SAT)

  • Essays - Applicants must write two essays- one for the Common Application essay, and another Yale-specific essay
    • For the common application, applicants must choose two of the following topics and respond to each in 250 words or fewer-
      • What do they most enjoy learning?
      • Reflect on their engagement with a community to which they belong. How do they feel they have contributed to this community?
      • Write on something that they would like the University to know about what they have not conveyed elsewhere in the application?
    • Applicants selected in one of the computer science or engineering majors, must tell more about what has led them to an interest in this field of study, what experiences (if any) they have had in computer science or engineering, and what it is about Yale’s program in this area that appeals to them in 500 words or fewer

  • Interview-
    • Interviews are an optional part of the application process at Yale
    • During the 2022-2023 admissions cycle, all interviews will be conducted virtually
    • Because of limited virtual interviewing capacity, the Office of Undergraduate Admissions will prioritize interviews for students for whom the Admissions Committee needs more information
  • ELP waiver- Applicants who have studied in a school/college where English was a primary language of instruction, will be exempted from the ELP requirement
