Also called MDH, Mälardalen University is situated on both sides of Mälaren Lake in Sweden. Formed in 1977, the university is a public institution of higher education that has two campuses located in Västerås and Eskilstuna.
The university is home to about 16,000 students who are enrolled in different undergraduate and graduate programs. There are about 900 staff members out of which 87 are professors, 479 are teachers and 218 are doctoral students. Apart from this, the university offers academic facilities through its four schools and is one of the nation's largest higher education institutions. The university offers programs in the field of health, engineering, business, and education.
The university provides six different research specializations in various fields, including educational sciences and mathematics, future energy, embedded systems, industrial economics and management, health and welfare and innovation and product realization. Apart from this, Mälardalen University has graduated hundreds of alumni. Some of the alumni are serving major companies like Volvo, Google, ABB, Turk Telecom and Bombardier.
