  • The University accepts students with International School Qualifications such as IGCSE, and International Baccalaureate in addition to Indian Certificate of Secondary Education (ICSE/ISCE) or Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) and State Board qualifications for direct entry onto Undergraduate program
  • The University considers applicants for year 1 entry who are undertaking a degree in a related field elsewhere. Applicants must meet the GCSE requirements and have at least BBB (For ICSE/CBSE: 70% and State Boards (All) and NIOS: 75%) at A Level including Chemistry and one other science subject from: Biology, Maths OR Physics. A typical offer would be to achieve a 60% overall with no fails in any units
  • Five GCSEs all at grade C/4 and must include Maths and English Language or English Literature. Please note that we do not accept Key Skills or Functional Skills in place of these
  • GCSE Maths Grade C: B2 (CBSE Xth) , 60% (ICSE Xth) and 65% (State Board Xth)

  • It is also expected that applicants have not previously attempted the second year of a programme elsewhere. In order to be considered they will need to submit a UCAS application as the university does not accept direct applications and this must include an academic reference
  • Please note the university does not accept year 2 transfers in any circumstance
  • If applicant is shortlisted, he/she will receive an interview invitation which will be conducted virtually. The virtual interview is a compulsory element of the application process and no offer will be made without a successful interview being conducted first

Undergraduate applicants who accept a conditional offer of a place at Aston University but subsequently fail to meet all the conditions may still be confirmed onto their initial choice if there are still vacancies available on that course and if, upon academic reconsideration of the application, it is deemed that the overall qualities and achievements of the applicant is appropriate to the spirit of the offer while Applicants for postgraduate taught programs who fail to meet the University’s entry criteria for a specific program will not normally be able to compensate for underachievement. Where reconsideration for the same course is not possible, an applicant will be considered for any appropriate and available alternative courses within the University
