The history of Leeds Beckett University started in 1824 as a Leeds Mechanics Institute. The university has a history of almost 200 years. LBU was formerly known as Leeds Metropolitan University (LMU) and before that Leeds Polytechnic, is a public university in Leeds, West Yorkshire, England. With a population of 28,000 students and 3,200 staff, LBU is one of the biggest employers in Leeds. This university is popular for offering the best education in different level programs. Leeds Beckett University City Campus is just a few minutes away from the main shopping centre, the First Direct Arena. It is also well connected with public transport.

Leeds Beckett University courses are available in more than 170 undergraduate courses and 200 postgraduate courses. It also provides distance-learning courses. The university offers education in many subjects like Accounting and Finance, Arts and Design, Business and Management, Engineering, Law, Film, Performing Arts, Marketing, PR, Journalism, Nursing, Healthcare and Health Promotion, etc. Course fees, and the options for payment, can vary depending on the cost of your course.

Leeds Beckett University accommodation is available for international students. One can live in any of the university’s halls during their studies. These halls are a great place to meet new people. In addition, there are en-suite bathrooms available that are shared between 2-6 students. 24-hour security is also available in the university’s halls for the safety of students. Indian students can apply for Leeds Beckett University scholarships after meeting the eligibility criteria. Course-wise scholarships are provided to students. Different amounts of scholarships are given to students pursuing undergraduate courses, postgraduate courses, and research courses.

Tips: I got a scholarship of 32000. There is a cultural shift because UK is not our home country. Don't expect that you will land a job immediately after Masters. You should have prior knowledge of your field before Masters. Minimum professional experience is mandatory.

Tips: The best aspect of living on campus is the convenience. Its easy to attend classes and scheduled events. There are many facilities we get from campus such as library, gym and sports area. In terms of food especially Indian food, it is quite expensive.
