Queen Margaret University, Edinburgh is a well-established public university in Musselburgh, Scotland. Founded in the year 1875, the institution has been driven by the aim to impart quality education to its students. Earlier, it was established as the Edinburgh School of Cookery by its founders Christian Guthrie Wright and Louisa Stevenson. It is in the year 1999, the institution began to be recognized as Queen Margaret University. Of-late, the vision of the university is to facilitate an experience of learning that can help students achieve their individual goals and enable them to contribute to society well. By providing an optimal balance of practical and theoretical education, it prepares students to create a better world. In the National rankings under 2020 "University League Table" of The Complete University Guide, the university was ranked 68th.

Before moving to a new campus in Musselburgh, the university had campuses in Corstorphine, Leith and at the Gateway Theatre. During 2007-2008, it brought together students from its three Edinburgh campuses and moved them to a new campus in Musselburgh. The campus of the institution has been regarded as the greenest university campus in the country. The Learning Resource Centre (LRC) of the institution is comprised of about 4,500 square metres of its main academic building. The campus of the university is well-equipped with several facilities that help in facilitating a conducive environment for learning. It maintains food outlets, accommodation units, sports facilities, and beautiful grounds. Also, transportation services are available facilitating quick access to Edinburgh city centre and East Lothian's beautiful coast and countryside.
