  • A 2.1 Honours degree or equivalent qualification acceptable to the University in a Natural Science subject, Mathematics, Computer Science, or a relevant medical or life sciences subject (e.g. Genetics, Molecular Biology, Biomedical Sciences, Physics or Statistics). A medical (MB) or dental degree (BDS) is also considered
  • International Applicants who are currently studying an overseas Medical (e.g. MBBS or MbChB) or Dental degree at a recognised institution acceptable to the University, may apply.
  • International Applicants must have passed all assessments at first attempt for the year in which they are applying, normally 3rd year for those completing a 5 year programme or 4th year for those completing a 6 year programme.
  • International Applicants may be required to provide details of the medical or dental curriculum they are studying in order to confirm compatibility.
  • Indian Equivalent:
    • First Division Pass and a minimum final average of 60% (in the traditional system), or
    • CGPA 7.5 out of 10 on the 10 point scale; or 7.0 out of 10 if this equates to 'Good' in the institutional grading system, or
    • 4.0 out of 6.0/B/Good in the 6-point system
    • 58% can beconsidred from India's prestigious institutions

Other eligibility criteria

For admission to most postgraduate degree programmes, the University will normally accept 70% in English Language in Standard XII in lieu of an IELTS Academic test, if awarded by one of the following Indian examination boards:

  • All India Senior School Certificate Examination (Delhi Senior School Certificate Examination) awarded by the Central Board of Secondary Education CBSE
  • Indian School Certificate (Year 12) awarded by the Council for the Indian School Certificate Examinations (CISCE).
  • Higher Secondary Certificate (Year 12) awarded by the following State Boards: Gujarat, Karnataka, Maharashtra, Tamil Nadu and West Bengal.
