Sheffield, South Yorkshire, England is home to Sheffield Hallam University. One of England's largest and most diverse universities is this one. The university spans two different areas. Their collegiate site is over two miles distant in the Broomhall Estate off Ecclesall Road in south-west Sheffield, while their city campus is located in the city's heart close to the Sheffield Railway Station. Out of 167 universities in the UK, it is the 11th largest, with 30,815 students, 4,400 of them are from outside the country, and 4,494 staff members. 708 courses are available.

The University has been ranked 1001- 1200 in QS Top University Rankings 2022 and 801–1000 in World University Rankings THE 2022. 

The university has also gone by the titles Sheffield Polytechnic and Sheffield City Polytechnic in the past. As of 2015, the university endowment was 0.52 million British Pounds. Helena Kennedy of the Shaws, Baroness Kennedy, is the university's chancellor. Vice-chancellor Chris Husbands is in charge. As of the 2016–2017 academic year, 24,455 of the total student body were undergraduates and 6,365 were postgraduates. Association of Commonwealth Universities membership is held by the university.

International students can enrol in 334 postgraduate programmes, 327 undergraduate programmes, as well as a few more short courses at Sheffield Hallam University. One of the most sought-after programmes at the moment is Sheffield Hallam University's full-time Global MBA.

The Lifelong Learning Network (LLN) covering Southern Yorkshire, North Nottinghamshire, and North Derbyshire is called Higher Futures, with SHU as its primary partner.

Indian students must have a Class XII grade of at least 65% to qualify. Candidates for direct admission to Sheffield Hallam University who have completed one year in an Indian university may be taken into consideration. A three-year bachelor's degree with a 55–60% or a four-year bachelor's degree with a 55% or above and the successful completion of a pre-masters programme is required for postgraduate taught courses. Pre-masters and all other programmes require IELTS scores of 5.5 or 6.0, accordingly.

The university makes sure that first-year students have housing within a few minutes walk of lecture halls. Numerous scholarships are available at Sheffield Hallam University in the UK, but each student is limited to just one. For prestigious scholarships like Vice-Chancellor Awards and Transform Together Scholarships, students can apply online and qualify for 50% off of their tuition.

There are many notable alumni, including Kid Acne, who is a musician and artist, Roma Bubuniak, who is an artist. The notable staff includes Alison Adam, who is the professor of society, technology and science and I.M Dharmadasa, who is an applied researcher and physicist specializing in low in cost solar cells.

Tips: Students should do research about the modules of their courses. They should check ranking of the university according to their chosen course. Do they want to live in a bigger city or a cosmopolitan city because Sheffield doesn't have so much to offer as compared to London and other big cities?
