  • A UK 2:1 honours degree, or its international equivalent, in informatics, artificial intelligence, cognitive science, computer science, electrical engineering, mathematics, physics or another quantitative discipline
  • All applicants must have completed the equivalent to 60 credits of mathematics that have typically covered the following subjects/topics: calculus (differentiation and integration), linear algebra (vectors and multi-dimensional matrices), discrete mathematics, and mathematical reasoning (e.g. induction and reasoning, graph-theoretic models, proofs), and probability (concepts in discrete and continuous probabilities, Markov chains, etc.)
  • Entry to this programme is competitive. A typical offer will normally require a UK first-class honours degree
  • Competence in programming is essential. During the degree, applicants must have completed a programming course in at least one of the following: C/C++, Java, Python, R, Matlab, Haskell, ML

  • Appropriate people to provide the references would include a Personal Tutor (or equivalent) or another academic who has taught the applicant at the undergraduate or masters level. They should be able to comment on the potential of the applicant to undertake postgraduate study
  • If it is a while since the applicant has graduated then a work-related reference in place of an academic one would also be considered. This would typically be written by a line manager
