Is there any scholarship or financial aid available for international students?

The University of Central Lancashire offers different types of scholarships to international students. However, students who have applied for pre-sessional programmes, postgraduate research, distance learning, or MBBS course are not eligible for any of the university's scholarships.

Some of the popular scholarships applicable to undergraduate students are listed below:

Excellence Scholarship - The students who have managed to score excellent grades in their high school are eligible for this scholarship. An amount of GBP 3000 is automatically deducted from the tuition fees of the students who receive the Excellence Scholarship. There is no need to submit a separate application for this scholarship as the submitted academic transcripts and the application form are evaluated to reward the eligible students. Even the students who have applied for the postgraduate programmes can apply for the Excellence Scholarship.

Family Loyalty Scholarship - The Family Loyalty Scholarship is awarded to the student who is a spouse, sibling, or son/daughter of the students who is completing their bachelor's degree or have already completed their full-time graduation course from the university. An amount of GBP 1000 is reduced from the tuition fees of the students who manage to win this scholarship. The students need not apply to receive this scholarship as the tuition fee discount is automatically applied to the eligible students.

The scholarships applicable for the students who have applied for postgraduate programmes are given below:

Chevening - UK Government Scholarship - The students who have applied for the postgraduate programmes and return to their countries for 24 months after completing their studies are considered for this scholarship. A tuition fee discount is given to the students who manage to earn the Chevening Scholarship.

Commonwealth Commission in the UK: MA International Relations - This scholarship is given to the students of the Commonwealth countries who hold a second class degree along with a relevant PG qualification or have a first degree of minimum upper second class. The entire tuition fee is given as a waiver to the students who manage to win this scholarship. The students need to apply for this scholarship before early April, and the applications usually open during the end of February.

Like other students, even the foundation year students can choose their preferred programme and subjects.

Therefore, it is recommended that students apply early to avoid unnecessary delay while securing admission.

Student Diversity & Preferred Profile

What are the chances to get into this university?

Applicant's academic qualifications determine whether an international student will get an admission offer from the University of Central Lancashire. Only around 22% of the total applications get accepted by the university every year.

An applicant's work experience will also be considered (only where necessary) while evaluating the graduate programs' applications. A student's CV and personal statement can play a key role while selecting applicants with similar academic credentials and English language proficiency scores.

However, the students who have the required grades and English proficiency scores can start applying as soon as the university begins accepting the applications to improve their chances of getting a seat in the desired programme.
