  • This core content is taught by specialist staff with expertise in media and development across a range of thematic areas including refugees and communication, humanitarian journalism, charity campaigns and more
  • Students will address current theories, practice and research surrounding the relationship between media and development, and they will have the freedom to choose from a wide range of specialist optional modules and training courses
  • This Masters programme has three specialist modules - Media and International Development (MID), Media and Development in Practice (MADIP) and Global Media Studies (GMS)
  • Students will examine how media can be used to change behaviours and policies, why media freedom matters and how it can be promoted, and how charities and other development organisations communicate with the public about famine, poverty, migration, and other global issues

  • Applicants should normally have a good undergraduate degree (UK 2.1 or equivalent) from a recognised higher education institution
  • The University will also take into account the employment experience of applicants where relevant
  • Subjects required: Social Sciences, preferably media or development
  • Relevant work experience is desirable
  • The holders of an Indian Bachelor degree with at least 52% will be considered for postgraduate study
