Are there any Scholarships or Financial Aid Available for International Students?

There are multiple scholarships that are available for students are different academic levels. The following scholarships deserve a separate mention:

Undergraduate Courses: YesThe international students at UG level are offered subject-based scholarships to a maximum award of £3,000. Usually, 6 or 7 at a higher level in the International Baccalaureate are required to be eligible.

NoteHealth Sciences and Medicine courses are not eligible for these scholarships. Also, students holding the foundation course qualification are not considered.

Postgraduate Courses: Basic requirement is to achieve a 1st or equivalent in an undergraduate degree: £3,000 or some cases achieve a 2:1 or equivalent in an undergraduate degree: £2,000

  • For MSc - Achieve a 1st or equivalent in an undergraduate degree: £5,000 
  • For MBA - Scholarships of up to £9,000 for candidates who can demonstrate a combination of specific business excellence criteria on the full time MBA programme

Note: PGCert or PGDip qualifications and Postgraduate Research programmes i.e. Ph., Doctorate, MPhil, EngD, MRes are not eligible for these scholarships.

Eligible students get an automatic reduction in course fees for the first year of the course. No separate application is required. When will I Hear from the University after I Submit my Application?

UG Courses: Once you have applied, UCAS will send you an acknowledgement email and forward your application to the university. The university then will let you know if your application has been received and is being processed. You will receive a response within two to six weeks, depending on your course along with a notification in UCAS Track sent to your email with final response.

PG Courses: Once you have submitted your online application you ought to expect to receive an e-mail acknowledgement. This e-mail confirms that the University has received your application in their student record system. Once your application is on their system, you can access the online tracking facility (through the link provided in the acknowledgement e-mail or by logging onto the online form and choosing the relevant application from the ‘Processed Applications’ list). Is on-campus housing available?

The university has a total of seven halls of residence around the campuses offering a wide variety of rooms to suit every student's needs and budget. From self-catered rooms with a shared bathroom, to en- suite rooms and studio flats, there is something for everybody. Support is available round the clock, seven days a week, for all the students, whether living in halls or private accommodations.

Their accommodation fee is payable in instalments that cover each university term. Alternatively, payments can be made online/debit card. The accommodation fees include:

Rent does not usually include utility bills (gas, water and electricity) that can be about £15 a week depending on how much you use. They will also have to pay for any internet, TV or phone services at the property, the price of these will vary depending on the package chosen.
