Applicants normally have one of the following:

  • An honours degree awarded by a UK institute of higher education of at least lower second status, in Psychology or a relevant subject
  • An honours degree in Psychology and be eligible for the Graduate Basis for Chartership (GBC) for membership of the British Psychological Society (BPS)
  • Qualifications deemed equivalent by the Course Leader
  • In order to be eligible to progress from the MSc to Stage 2 training in Sport and Exercise Psychology and become a Chartered Sport and Exercise Psychologist you must have GBC status. Applicants that do not have GBC status would not be eligible
  • Entry requirements for postgraduate courses vary from institution to institution and have been determined by both the length of the degree and the section of university (as defined by the NOOSR list):

  • NOOSR Section 1 - 2.6 GPA or 48% for a three-four year degree, 45% from a five-year degree.
  • Section 1 includes: Alagappa University, All India Institute of Medical Sciences, Amity, Amrita Institute of Management, Anna university, Banaras hindu University, Bangalore University, Bharathiar University, Birla Institute of Technology, Board of Technical Education, Chennai University, D Y Patil, Delhi University, English and Foreign Language University, Guru Nanak Dev University, IIM, IIT, IIS, Kolkata University, Mumbai University, Pune University.

  • NOOSR Section 2 – 2.8 GPA or 55% for all degrees
  • Section 3 – 3.0 GPA or 60% for all degrees

Marks - 58/90

  • Overall score of 58 with at least 51 in each component (Listening, Reading, Writing and Speaking)

IELTS

Marks - 6.5/9

  •  The International English Language Test (IELTS) overall score of 6.5 with 5.5 in each component.

Other eligibility criteria
Applicants without a BPS accredited Psychology degree may be invited to interview ahead of being offered a place on the course Applicants with 70% in English in Higher Secondary School Certificate/Indian School Certificate - Standard XII from CBSE/CISCE/WBCHSEB can fulfill English language requirement
