Founded in 2010, the University Of Wales Trinity Saint David (UWTSD) is a public institution for higher education and research at multiple locations. Set up under the 1828 royal charter of Lampeter, the institution was the result of the merger between Trinity University College and the University of Wales. The institution merged with the Swansea Metropolitan University in 2013.
UWTSD has three main campuses across South West Wales (Lampeter, Carmarthen, and Swansea). Each campus features modern teaching, learning and research facilities like spacious classrooms, libraries, laboratories, and art studios. Centrally located Trinity Saint David building is the oldest structure on the Lampeter campus that houses administrative offices, lecture rooms, and student residences. Though Carmarthen campus is centered around Trinity College's old building, it comprises many modern buildings encircled by sweeping gardens and lawns. The campus features the university chapel lounge housing the chaplaincy library and community meeting spaces. Swansea Campus is home to the Yr Athrofa: Institute of Education, Business School, and the Architecture, Engineering, and Computing Faculty.

In 2012, UWTSD set up a satellite campus in London that offers a variety of courses in business and management. It also operates learning centers in Birmingham and Cardiff.
The university offers undergraduate, postgraduate, and doctoral level programs in humanities, architecture, engineering, business, tourism and hospitality, media, performing arts, and education. It extends a range of online, distance, and part-time courses that facilitate flexible learning around personal and professional life while maintaining academic rigor. The university has partnerships with various UK-based and overseas organizations and institutions that offer valuable research and development opportunities to the students along with global learning experiences. Currently, it has over 25,000 students studying across all the campuses.
The university has a comprehensive list of alumni, which includes notable names like Dewi Bebb (Rugby Player), Jonathan Clements (Author and Scriptwriter), Juliette Foster (Journalist and TV News Presenter), Barry John (Rugby Player), Peter Paphides (Journalist and Broadcaster) and Rebecca Wheatley (British Actress and Musician).
