Founded in 1909, Arkansas State University is a public research university. It is the second largest university in Arkansas in terms of enrollment. It covers an area of 1376 acres. The main campus of the university is in Jonesboro, Arkansas. There is an instructional site of the Jonesboro campus that is the Arkansas State University, Paragould.

Another campus was inaugurated in 2017 in Mexico. It is popularly known as the Arkansas State University, Queretaro. The various colleges maintained by the university are College of Agriculture, Neil Griffin College of Business, Engineering and Computer Science, Education and Behavioural Science, Nursing and health professionals, Liberal Arts and Communication, Sciences and Mathematics, Undergraduate Studies.
