Based in California's suburb Pasadena, California Institute of Technology is among the leading private research universities in the world. It was established as a vocational school in 1891 and was known as Throop University. Today, it is globally recognized as Caltech due to its expertise in engineering and natural science. Caltech maintains a notable list of alumni who have gained a good reputation in their respective fields. The university has Over 24,000 alumni including 38 noble laureates. Harrison Hagan Jack Schmitt, a noted geologist, and NASA astronaut graduated from Caltech in 1957. Famous biochemist and author Linus Carl Pauling also graduated from this university. The alumni list also includes Mustafa A.G. Abushagur (former Deputy Prime Minister of Libya), Charles Gordon Fullerton (astronaut and air force colonel), Regina Dugan (first female director of DARPA), Arvind Virmani (Indian government's former Chief Economic Adviser), Arati Prabhakar (DARPA's 20th director), Arnold Orville Beckman ( inventor of pH meter), Gordon Earle Moore (American engineer and Intel Corporation's co-founder).

I think that this college give me discipline & ability to think different.

Tips: Students have to maintain rules & regulations. You should know about the college infrastructure and the facilities they provide. All the scholarship programs you should know prior to taking admission in this college. Also, proper inquiry about staying.

Likes (Indian Food): I rated high on food options because I like the dishes of the nearby hotels & restaurants. There is a different culture as I got different dishes. I like the food options because I have freedom of choosing my own dishes of my choice to eat.

A. Caltech has a very competitive selectivity rate which is usually less than 10%. Admissions are selective hence, admits are also lower for all levels of study - 938 UG and 1,299 students for PG were admitted in 2018-19. The student faculty ratio on an average is 3:1. Caltech students and faculty have received 46 nobel prizes over the years.

Q. How much GPA is required for Caltech admissions?

A. Minimum GPA required is 3.5 on 4.0 point scale in order to get admission to Caltech. Applicants must be in the top 5% of their class also in order to get selected.

Q. What is the acceptance rate of Caltech?

A. As per the recent admission cycles, the acceptance rate for class of 2024 is 6.4%. Around 8,300+ applications were accepted and only 44% of the students were enrolled for the year 2018-19.

Q. How are admission applications accepted at California Institute of Technology?

A. Applicants can submit either Common or Coalition Application for undergraduate admissions while, admission applications are accepted directly through Caltech website for graduate admissions.
