Approximately 75% of students participate in sports and almost 25% participate in intercollegiate athletics. Dartmouth has over 350 clubs that include Greek organizations. Students are also encouraged to take industrial visits for exposure. In addition, the college conducts student exchange programs that let students visit other universities and understand the different academic structures. This program gives students ample field knowledge. More than half of the students participate in the many off-campus programs offered in more than 20 countries globally. The university also has affiliations with the Hopkins Center for the Arts, the Rockefeller Institute for Public Policy, and the Dartmouth–Hitchcock Medical Center.
Dartmouth College has a notable list of alumni that includes Connie Britton (actress and singer), Brad Ausmus (famous baseball player), Jake Tapper (journalist), Mindy Kaling (comedian), Sarah Wayne Callies (actress), Robert Frost (poet), Henry Paulson (former CEO of Goldman Sachs), Tom Wolf (46th Governor of Pennsylvania), and Lousie Erdrich (National Book Award winner). It also includes Michael Moriarty (Emmy award winner), former U.S. Secretary of the Treasury Timothy Geithner, and creator of the popular television show, Grey's Anatomy, Shonda Rhimes.
