Courses Offered


What all courses are available to international students?


Georgetown University offers Bachelor of Arts (BA) and Bachelor of Science (BSc) degrees in over 44 majors, 48 minor, and 7 certificates. The graduate school of Arts and Science offers PhD, Professional Doctorate, Masters, and Certificate level programs in over 50 disciplines. The university has 63 Master's, 63 PhD programs, and over 100,000 possible degree combinations available. It also offers over 200 study abroad courses.

Research

Georgetown University offers a variety of research opportunities through a number of departments, initiatives, fellowships, and research centers. The researchers explore a diverse range of issues — from the science of drug discovery to a dialog on religious identity.


Eligibility & Documents Required


What are the eligibility requirements?


The eligibility requirements are as follows:

Undergraduate

The first-year students are required to submit either their SAT or ACT. Georgetown does not accept self-reported scores.

SAT

  • Optional writing from SAT is not reviewed
  • Math and Verbal sections are taken into consideration
  • Highest score from the Math and Verbal sections will be considered in case of multiple tests

ACT

  • Math, English, Reading, and Science sections are considered
  • Optional writing section is not reviewed
  • The highest composite score will be considered if ACT is undertaken more than once

One of the following English Proficiency Examinations:

  • TOEFL: Minimum score of 100 (iBT), 600 (paper-based test), or 250 (computer-based test)
  • IELTS: Minimum score of 7.0
  • Duolingo: Recommended score of 115

*Georgetown recommends, however, does not require the student to provide English language proficiency results. 


What all documents are needed for application?


The following documents are needed for application:

  • Secondary School Report
  • Letter of Recommendation
  • Results of the College Board Scholastic Assessment Test or the American College Testing
  • Program examination sent directly from the testing service
  • Scores from College Board SAT Subject Tests sent directly from the testing service
  • All the sittings of SAT, ACT and SAT Subject Test with the entire testing record

Application & Tuition Fees


Is there any application fee?


Undergraduate

The application has to be submitted with $75 as the application fee. This amount is non-refundable. Without this form, the application process cannot be initiated.

Postgraduate

The application fee is $90 for graduate applicants. This amount is non-refundable as well. One cannot submit the application form without paying an application fee. The medium to pay the fee is by either Visa or Master Card.

Step 2: You need to fill in the information including address, parent/ guardian’s information, personal information and information related to education.

Step 3: You must select the wavier of access (related to the alumni interview).

Step 4: Then, you can submit the application and provide electronic signature.

Step 5: Next, you can add the card details for application fee payment.

Step 6: After the submission of the application, you will receive details and further information that will help you create your ‘Application Account’. The university also sets up an ‘Alumni Interview’.

Step 7: Once you login to the account, you can then submit your Application Supplements.

When will I hear from the university after I submit my application?


The Admission Committee will notify the Early Application students by the mid of December and Regular Decision Application students in the beginning of April about their admission details.

Georgetown University considers SAT/ACT results and GPA as a really important part of the acceptance process. Georgetown recommends the submission of three subject tests. The university considers students' achievements from both inside and outside of the classroom for admissions.

Part Time Work While Studying


Can I work while studying here?


On-campus employment for J-1 students requires OGS authorization whereas F-1 students require no authorization. Both F-1 and J-1 students must not exceed 20 total hours per week of employment. Students may work full-time on campus during official university breaks for at least one week.
