In 1953, five Christian brothers of the De La Salle founded the Academy of the Holy Infancy. In 1863, after receiving the State Charter, the name was changed to Manhattan College. In 1922, the college was shifted to its present location- The Bronx in New York. The campus of Manhattan College is quite compact. The campus has 2 parts- the North Campus and the South Campus. The main academic halls on the North Campus are De La Salle Hall and Miguel Hall. Miguel mainly houses the Arts Department and the De La Salle Hall houses the Business School. It also has the Smith Auditorium and a chapel. The South Campus has the Leo Engineering Building, and the Research and Learning Center.
