New Jersey Institute of Technology also known to be the NJIT is the state’s public polytechnic university. Established in 1881 as Newark Technical School and renamed NJIT in 1975. It is accredited by the Middle States Commission on Higher Education. NJIT is the largest technological university in the New York metropolitan region.
