The university includes a weight and cardio area, multipurpose rooms, an indoor gymnasium, an aquatics center, outdoor basketball courts, table tennis and billiards areas, and a racquetball and squash court. In this university, there are a number of sports clubs. Some of the intramural sports organized in this university are badminton, basketball, floor hockey, racquetball, soccer, softball, table tennis, tennis, and volleyball.
Rice University has a number of notable alumni former Mayor of Houston Annise Parker, U.S. Attorney General Alberto Gonzales, former U.S. Secretary of State James Baker, Nobel Prize winners Richard Smalley and Robert Curl, and NASA astronaut Peggy Whitson.
