Roosevelt University, situated in Chicago and Schaumburg, Illinois is a private university. The university was established in 1945 and is named in the honor of the former presidents, the first lady Eleanor Roosevelt and Franklin Delano Roosevelt. The university is headed by president Dr. Ali Malekzadeh. The university provides both graduate and undergraduate programs.

The university was founded by Edward J Sparling, the president of Central YMCA College in Chicago. The university also provides a doctor of Pharmacy program and a Ph.D. program, Industrial-Organizational Psychology. The university provides graduate and undergraduate degree courses through 6 schools named Walter E Heller College of Business, Chicago College of Performing Arts, the College of Pharmacy, the College of Arts and Sciences, Robert Morris Experiential College, and the College of Education. The University offers 64 undergraduate majors, 38 minors, 54 graduate programs, and 3 doctoral programs.

The university also operates a varied division of institutes and centers. The university has several active student organizations on both campuses. It participates and competes in the National Association of Inter College Athletics (NAIA). The university is a member of the Chicagoland Collegiate Athletic Conference (CCAC). The university provides a varied range of sports activities for both women and men, like tennis, baseball, soccer basketball, and cross-country for men and volleyb

The university alumni include many renowned politicians, entertainers, and academics like Harold Washington, Anthony Braxton, and Dantira Vance. The university’s first advisory board includes eminent personalities such as Albert Einstein and Eleanor Roosevelt. The university provides multicultural student support services MSSS that provides academic support designed to improve the graduation and retention rates of students from limited-income backgrounds for first-generation college students and students of color through sustained development programming, financial literacy, advocacy and by providing a network of resources to assist the students to succeed. The MSSS along with staff and faculty provides support and strong collaborative alliance to help students achieve their academic goals. The MSSS provides assistance with employment search procedures, researching scholarship, and completing the graduate school application process.

The university also provides counseling centers to provide emotional counseling to the students to maintain their emotional well being. The center provides services like individual, group, and couples counseling consultation and referral and wellness and prevention programming. The university also has provisions for health insurance options for its students. The university caters to wellness and athletics through facilities like the Schaumburg Fitness Centre, the Lillian and Larry Goodman Centre, and the Barry Crocon Fitness Centre.
