200 years old, The George Washington University (GWU) is a private research university based in Virginia, USA. Academic Ranking of World Universities (Shanghai Ranking) has placed GWU between 201-300 in 2018 and 2019 that was dropped to 301-400 in 2020 in its global universities ranking. QS (Top universities) has also placed GWU under the top 400 universities in its world university ranking since 2017. Times Higher Education (THE) has improved GWU's rank from 201-250 in 2018 to 187th place in the 2021 best universities ranking.
