  • Applicants must have a baccalaureate degree from a regionally accredited college or university or from a recognized university abroad
  • Most students accepted into the program have a minimum overall undergraduate grade point average (GPA) of 3.0 on a 4.0 scale
  • Students from undergraduate programs including criminal justice, computer science, electrical and computer engineering, MIS, IT, business, and accounting, as well as other science and social science fields can also apply
  • Regardless of specific undergraduate preparation, applicants will need to have formal exposure to the core areas of computer forensics, including cybercrime and its investigation, IT auditing/forensic accounting, fundamentals of computer and Internet literacy, probability and statistics, computer programming, networking, logic, discrete mathematics/logic, and information security management
  • Applicants seeking admission to the program who lack a background in computer science but meet the remaining minimum requirements for admission may be admitted contingent on them completing a set of prerequisite courses (or their equivalents) that may include the following (the program directors may require some courses in addition to the ones listed below depending upon the students’ specific background):
    • Introduction to Computer Science in Python and Introduction to Computer Science in Python Lab
    • Object-Oriented Programming and Object-Oriented Programming Lab
    • Systems Programming and Systems Programming Lab
  • Similarly, students seeking admission to the program (especially to the Cyber-Crime Investigations track) who lack a background in criminal justice but meet the remaining minimum requirements for admission may be admitted contingent on them completing a set of prerequisite courses (or their equivalents) that may include the following (the program directors may require some courses in addition to the ones listed below depending upon the students’ specific background):
