Founded in 1868, the University of California—Berkeley a public research university and regarded as one of the best state universities in the US. They have also won 20 Academy Awards, 20 Pulitzer Prizes, and 207 Olympic medals and 45 MacArthur Fellowships. During the 2012 London Olympics, its graduates have won a total of 17 medals including 11 gold, one silver, and 5 bronze. This also proves Berkley’s dominance in the sporting arena.
