Founded in 1868, the University of California—Berkeley a public research university and regarded as one of the best state universities in the US. During the 2012 London Olympics, its graduates have won a total of 17 medals including 11 gold, one silver, and 5 bronze. This also proves Berkley’s dominance in the sporting arena.
