The university includes a number of graduate schools and programs including highly ranked David Geffen School of Medicine, Henry Samueli School of Engineering and Applied Science, and Anderson School of Management.

The sports team of the university is called The Bruins. It has been a participant of NCAA Division I. Most of the competitions are held within the premises like Pauley Pavilion wherein volleyball as well as basketball teams along with women's gymnastics teams participate. The university has won 261 Olympic Medals along with 118 NCAA championships. UCLA offers 1000 student organizations providing students with multiple opportunities to pursue their interests.
