What all courses are available to international students?

UC offers up to 414 degrees, 262 minors, and certificates across major disciplines of study. For undergraduate students, it has 127 baccalaureate and 149 undergraduate certificate programs. UC provides more than 350 degree and certificate programs at the graduate level, including 135 masters, 85 PhD, seven professional, and 110 certificate courses.

The university admits undergraduate students directly to the major for which they apply. Apart from this, UC’s University Honors Program (UHP) allows undergraduate aspirants to deep dive into their chosen subject, take risks, and discover their passion. A handful of students, about seven per cent, make it to this program. There is no separate application process for the UHP. As admission to UHP is competitive, the university will consider a student’s profile for this program only if that student has:

• ACT composite score of 32 or higher
• Unweighted high school GPA of 3.6 or higher or a weighted high school GPA of 3.8 or higher
• Outstanding personal statement and essays in the UC application for admission that demonstrate particular skill in reflection

Accelerated College English (ACE) Program Application

Aspirants whose English language proficiency scores do not match the university requirements can opt for the ACE Program. It is a two-semester program that provides English as a Second Language (ESL) courses along with major-based classes that will be counted as credits. Only after completing the ACE Program, students are guaranteed admission into their selected majors.

International Conditional Application

For undergraduate programs, international students need to apply with their Grade 12 score and ACT or SAT scores. Grade 12 and ACT/SAT scores requirements will differ as per major. Any one of these English language proficiency test scores is required:

Is there any application fee?

The undergraduate application fee for the University of Cincinnati is a non-refundable amount of USD 100 fee. Is there any scholarship or financial aid available for international students?

Graduate aspirants can avail department-specific financial assistance through fellowships, assistantships, and scholarships. Contact the respective college or department to know more about the type of assistance available for international graduate students. International undergraduate students are considered for the UC International Scholarships by default.

UC offers two merit-based scholarship award opportunities – UC Global Scholarship and International Outreach Scholarship. There is no separate application process for this as all completed applications are considered for these scholarships. Students are notified if they qualify for a scholarship at the time of their admission. For students applying to Uptown Campus, the average combined scholarship amount awarded is USD 8,000 per academic year, which they can avail up to four academic years (USD 32,000). A first-year (freshman) can renew the scholarships up to eight academic semesters. A transfer student can renew it up to four or six academic semesters (as per program duration). To be considered for these scholarships, a student needs to fulfill the following eligibility criteria and test score requirements:
