The acceptance rate of the University of Dayton is 81%. The academic calendar year at the university is divided into three terms: fall, spring, and summer. In order to take admission into undergraduate courses, as an international student, you must have completed high school. Those who want to take admission into graduate courses should have scores of GRE or GMAT (as applicable). Apart from these, students must also have English language proficiency scores. Bachelor's Plus Master's (BPM) Program

UD’s special streamlined program, the BPM allows students to earn their bachelor's and master's degree at an accelerated pace. The master's degree is often completed within just one year of earning the bachelor's degree. Students choosing BPM courses get a discount on tuition fees. You save 30% per credit hour on the graduation tuition fee, interested students pursuing bachelor's program should talk to their academic advisor. This program offers students the opportunity to develop the skills needed to take full advantage of the high-quality education at the university and all within a personalized environment. Irrespective of students’ backgrounds or goals, UD provides the highest quality English language and cultural immersion program. The IEP is a gateway to undergraduate or graduate admission, and most students complete their language training within one academic year. This program is offered by the University of Dayton for a degree seeking students and those who wish to have an English language and American culture immersion experience. It is a seven week course and the tuition fee for the 2022/23 full term seven week course is $3,255.

How to Apply for Post Graduate Admission at University of Dayton?

An international student seeking admission to any graduate program must have completed a minimum of 16 years of education. This includes the equivalent of a four-year bachelor's degree from a regionally accredited institution. Coursework done at any technical or non-university affiliated institutions may not be considered for academic credits. The education ministry of the applicant's home country must officially recognize each school as a degree-granting institution. University of Dayton Scholarships & Financial Aid

Is there any scholarship or financial aid available for international students?

International students have limited options for university financial aid. International UG students are eligible for UD’s merit scholarships which are offered to selected first-year and transfer international applicants. These scholarships are worth up to USD 30,000 per year and are directly applied to your tuition. Students are automatically considered for this merit scholarship during the admission process. Apart from this, the Textbook Scholarship is awarded to eligible international students. These awards cover the cost of textbooks up to USD 4,000 over four years. A campus visit or video visit is required to be awarded this scholarship.

When will I hear from the university after I submit my application?

For undergraduate students, the evaluation and review process takes around 2-4 weeks. Note that, certain programs may have a longer evaluation and review process. On the other hand, graduate decisions take about four to six weeks. It may take longer in the case of other programs that are highly competitive.

University of Dayton Part-Time Work While Studying

Can I work while studying here?

International students with F-1 Visa status are eligible to work on-campus while attending classes. Additional requirements for on-campus employment include:

  • Enrolled in a full-time degree course during the academic year or maintain student status.
  • Work up to 20 hours a week only during the term(s)
  • Can work up to 35 hours per week during the winter, spring, and summer vacations.
  • Not engage in on-campus employment after completing degree requirements.

  • If you receive a job offer, submit the ISSS Immigration Process Request form.
  • Get this form signed by your employer (original signature required and not-electronic).
  • You may apply at the Social Security Office downtown with the completed form by following the directions provided by ISSS.

Is on-campus housing available?

UD is a residential university and 85% of the students live on campus and in the student neighbourhood — a one-of-a-kind community of students living side by side in porch-clad houses. There are five residence halls for first and second-year students, eight for upper-division students, and six for alumni and law students.
