Established in 1743, the University of Delaware (UD) is one of the oldest universities in the USA. The University of Delaware was earlier known as NewArk College in 1834 and later in 1843, it came to be addressed as Delaware College. The University of Delaware officially came into force in 1921 when a women's college joined hands with Delaware College. The main campus of the University of Delaware is located in Newark and is spread across 273 acres of land. There are four more campuses of UD, located in Wilmington, Dover, Georgetown and Lewes. Whereas, upperclassmen can opt for only limited options like - Brown, Sypherd, Harter, Sharp, New Castle, Cannon, Kent, Sussex, Sypherd, Caesar Rodney, Independence Halls and, Courtyard Apartments.
Ranked as the Best Employer in Delaware by Forbes Magazine, the University of Delaware offers the highest salaries to its students in turn for their tuition rates as per CNBC. The University of Delaware placements for its graduating class of 2021 were reported at 97%. The knowledge rate was recorded at 75% for UD placements in 2021, which is higher than the national average of 67%. Around 66% of the graduating class of 2021 bagged an on-campus placement at the University of Delaware. The average annual salary was reported at USD 55,351 for those holding a Bachelor’s degree and USD 61,684 for those graduating with a Master’s degree.
