Situated in Notre Dame, Indiana, this college underwent significant developments in the late 19th century. In 1917, this university awarded its first degree to a woman. Comprising of 190 buildings, the popular departments, colleges, and schools of this university include School of Architecture, College of Arts and Letters, Mendoza College of Business, College of Engineering, Keough School of Global Affairs, The Graduate School, The Law School and College of Science.

The University of Notre Dame also comprises of the main library which was built in 1963. The University of Notre Dame also organizes a number of sports events throughout the year. This university has a list of notable alumni including Eric F. Wieschaus, who is a winner of the 1995 Nobel Prize in medicine and Philip Majerus, who is a discoverer of the cardioprotective effects of aspirin. There are many people in media who had studied at the university such as talk show hosts Regis Philbin and Phil Donahue, television and radio personalities Mike Golic and Hannah Storm.
