Ursinus College is a private foundation that was established in 1869. It is situated around 25 miles from Philadelphia in the town of Collegeville, Pennsylvania. Ursinus built its section of Phi Beta Kappa in 1992. While students can look over 60 courses of study, science, business and financial matters, and English are the three majors with the largest numbers of students. Students can browse more than 60 majors to examine, including applied economics, politics, and wellness education. First-year students at UC must take on the Common Intellectual Experience courses, which bring students together in small groups to discuss their beliefs and philosophies. Outside the study hall, UC students can engage in more than 100 organizations, community service through the Ursinus Center for Advocacy, Responsibility, and Engagement.

The Common Intellectual Experience is Ursinus' unique seminar course required for all first-year students and is a requisite for the bachelor's degree. The Common Intellectual Experience (referred to as CIE) is composed of two semester-long seminar courses which seek to investigate four of the central questions of the traditional liberal arts education. The courses are characterized by students in all CIE classes discussing the course texts at the same time and studying the works in both the seminar room and through additional avenues of scientific and artistic exploration.

Summer Fellows Program: A select group of youngsters and seniors take part in an intensive research program on campus for 6 weeks each summer. They work one-on-one with a faculty mentor to finish an in-depth project of their personal preference. Students acknowledged in this prestigious program are given a stipend. Toward the completion of the session, they present their findings and often they pursue the research throughout the year.

 Celebration of Student Achievement (CoSA): CoSA is an all-day campus-wide event connecting with the entire campus community in the introduction, conversation, and festivity of all types of scholarly and imaginative work by understudies at all levels. Oral introductions, banner introductions, exhibitions and different showcases of understudy achievement are introduced, as a solitary individual or in a gathering; it might originate from work done in homeroom or outside of the study hall (look into, temporary job, understudy exercises or network administration).

Ursinus College offers financial assistance based on both merit and financial circumstances. The college's grant and award programs amounted to more than $45 million for 2017-2018. Ninety-nine percent of Ursinus students get some type of financial assistance.

Some notable alumni are: Jerome David Salinger who was an American writer, Daniel Mullen was an American football coach, and John William Mauchly was an American physicist.
