University Ranking
300 years old Yale University is the first in the USA to award Doctor of Philosophy degrees. Yale has been ranked among the top 5 educational institutes for the last 5 years. Prominent ranking providers QS and Shanghai have not placed the Ivy League University among the top 10 institutes in the last 5 years. Those who give importance to the research reputation of the university can go for Yale. US News & World Report rankings which give a significant weightage to the impact of the research work done by the university have placed Yale at number 4 in 2021. Hence, it is not just the quality of the research work done by Yale which is appreciated but its overall impact has also been recognised by experts.
When it comes to reputation Yale lags behind other Ivy League universities Harvard and MIT which have been consistently ranked among the top 5 higher education institutes worldwide by prominent ranking provider QS. QS has continuously dropped Yale in the last 5 years from its top universities ranking and placed it at 15th position or below. On the other hand, Times Higher Education has consistently improved Yale’s ranking in the best universities category. This signifies that the teaching quality at Yale has been upgraded.
