Texas A&M University is a public research university that is situated in the state of Texas in the United States. It is the only university in Texas that has received the title of institution providing access to the land, sea, and space. In 2001, it was also admitted as a constituent of the Association of American Universities. It has been a founding member of the Texas A&M University System, one of the ten greatest endowments in the country, since 1948. The National Science Foundation named Texas A&M University as one of the top 20 research universities in 2009. Even The Wall Street Journal placed it second in the nation for assisting students in landing jobs in important professional fields.

In their respective fields, around 90% of the faculty members possess PhD or terminal degrees, and 330 hold endowed professorships or chairs. 22 faculty members are members of the Institute of Medicine, National Academy of Sciences, or National Academy of Engineering. Texas A&M Institution overtook Harvard University as the second-largest public university in America with 68,625 students enrolled for the 2017 Fall semester. The university has continuously been listed among the top 10 public universities for National Merit Scholar enrolment each year.
Grants, work study, and scholarships are just a few of the financial assistance options Texas A&M University provides to its foreign applicants. Some of the scholarships offered to the international students are President's Endowed Scholarship, Lechner Scholarship, Foundation Excellence Award, International Freshman Scholarship and International Transfer Scholarship.
With the support of over 5,00,200 alumni, Texas A&M University has one of the largest American networks of alumni groups. Current United States Secretary of Energy, Rick Perry; NASA astronaut, Steven Swanson; first U.S. transgender judge, Phyllis Frye and the father of Hollywood, Charles E. Toberman are some of the notable members of the university's alumni.
